Special Education Attorney

Janina Botchis is a zealous advocate for the rights of children with special needs and their families. Whether the matter involves resolving placement issues or negotiating appropriate services from the school district, Mrs. Botchis will always work to ensure that all of the needs of the child are addressed and accommodated.

While externing at the District Attorney's Office, Mrs. Botchis was called-upon to assist a family member in obtaining services from their school district. It was through this personal introduction to the IEP Process that Mrs. Botchis committed herself to making the road easier for other families. Following law school, Mrs. Botchis volunteered at The Alliance for Children's Rights, an agency that helps children in foster care obtain services from their school district.

Mrs. Botchis completed her undergraduate work at Wesleyan University and received her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School where she was given the Witkin Award in Business Associations. Mrs. Botchis is licensed to practice law in the state of California. While a law student, Mrs. Botchis externed at the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, Domestic Violence Division, and the Los Angeles City Attorney's, Special Crimes Unit.
